Ericsson: AI in Networking

The world in 2025 is quite ambivalent about AI — some loves it with the very charm of its humongous potential; but some are quite frustrated with hallucinations, power consumption and return-on-investment. With many explorations done thus far with hashtag#AI and hashtag#GenAI, 2025 is expected to establish baseline for what works well when: AI in cloud vs edge? Custom AI vs AGI? AI agents vs Agentic AI? and more. Smart engineers and enterprises are readying to deploy matched data-algo-computing power for specific applications.

Dr. Aloknath De, Our Founder and CEO, recently presented a keynote in Ericsson, Bangalore. “AI in Networking” has been the theme with special focus on resource optimality. He highlighted how third golden age of AI with the sequential advent of Alexnet, GAN, transformer, GPT-3, ChatGPT are empowering network design. His presentation touched upon traffic classification, prediction, anomaly detection, intelligent routing etc. in the context of hashtag#6G communication. He concluded with the concept of hashtag#SemanticCommunication which may take beyond 6G timeframe.
